The storyline inside the movie displays this. Chaplin’s tramp falls in love with Merna, who returns his affection. Then, a tightrope walker named Rex (performed by Henry Bergman) will come onto the scene and Merna immediately falls in love with him. Why? Due to the fact his act is daring and unsafe whilst Chaplin’s clown act has fewer prestige.
